MANAGER RULES

Bradley-Bourbonnais PONY League

 

= 1)&n= bsp;            = ;     Each team w= ill be assigned a week, on a rotating basis, to be responsible for field preparati= on in the event of inclement weather. The schedule will be provided by the Lea= gue VP prior to the start of the season. Parents and players should be encourag= ed to participate.

 

2)      =             Your team is responsible for picking up the dugout and bleacher area during and

after the game. 

 

3)      =             The Manager or Representative from the last game of the day are to = stay until all equipment has been picked up, playing field has been manicured for the next playing day, concession stand has been closed, flag has been taken down and all the players have been picked up. A Manager and/or Coach must w= ait for all players to be picked up from practice before leaving the site. Violation of this rule is as follows:

1st offense: warning

2nd offense: 1 game suspe= nsion

3rd offense: removal as manager

 

4)      =             Each team may have a maximum of three (3) adults in the dugout. They must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.  The following rule is an “Insurance Regulation” and must be followed.  Violation of the rule is as follow= s:

1st Offense= :       Warning

2nd Offense= :      One game suspension

3rd Offense= :       Remov= al of Manager   

 

5)      =             Each Manager is responsible for finding a Team Parent to help with = the fundraisers, concession work and team pictures. 

 

= 6)&n= bsp;            = ;     All Managers need to call a parent meeting to explain how they will= run their team and what is expected of their players and from them as parents. = A board member must be present. Meet= ing must be held prior to the start of practice.

 

7)      =             All Managers will make copies of the Code of Conduct, League Rules = and Players Rules for their players and their parents.  Please go over these rules and Cod= e with all the players. Team rules must be signed.

 

8)      =             A Manager with advanced approval from the division Vice-President, = the Player Agent, and one other board member may request a one (1) game suspension, in writing, of a player for disciplinary reasons. Parents will be informed of any suspension given by t= he Manager.

 <= /span>

9)      =             A Manager that has been suspended from a game for any reason may not be at the

baseball complex f= or his/her team’s game during that suspension. No communications of any = kind (including electronic devices) can take place during the game between the manager and the coaches and players on the field or in the dugout. Violatio= n of this rule is as follows:

1st Offense:       Warning

2nd Offense:      One game suspension

3rd Offense:      = ; Removal of Manager

10)      =         All alcoholic beverages and any types of drugs are forbidden at practices, games or at the baseball complex itself.  Anyone caught with alcohol, drugs = or trying to distribute any illegal drugs will be turned other to the AUTHORIT= IES IMMEDIATELY.

 

11)      =         There will be no smoking or other tobacco products in= the dugout, or on the playing field at anytime during games, practices or special events.  Violation of this rule is as follows:

1st offense:            =         One game suspension

2nd offense:            =        Removal as Manager

 

11b)     There will be= no cell phone, pager, or walkie-talkie use allowed inside the playing field. Violation of this rule is as follows:

1st Offense= :        &= nbsp;          One game suspension

2nd Offense= :        &= nbsp;         Removal of Manager

 

12)       Abusive, profane language wi= ll not be tolerated under any circumstance by any Manager or Coach while at the baseball complex or practice site.  Disciplinary action will be taken as follows for those not abiding by this rule.

13)       Mana= gers will need to attend the yearly clean up days, sign-ups, try-outs, and the        =             &nb= sp;    

        &= nbsp;   drafts that are held each year.

 

14)       Managers caught intentionally not following the PONY playing rules or League rules will be given the following suspension:

            =             &nb= sp;           1st offense:      = ;            &n= bsp; One game suspension

        &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;            &= nbsp;  2nd offense:      = ;             <= /span>Removal as Manager

 

15)       All players must play a minimum of three (3) innings per game. This includes on= e at bat. In a game shortened due to weather or the 10-run rule each player must play a minimum of two (2) innings per game and= one at bat. Every player must play= five (5) full games per season, including crossovers. This rule may be prorated based on the number of games a player is eligible to play. If a Manager fai= ls to follow this rule, he/she will be given the following suspension:

 &nb= sp;            =             &nb= sp;         1st offense:      = ;            &n= bsp; One game suspension

        &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;            &= nbsp;  2nd offense:      = ;             <= /span>Removal as Manager

EXCEPTION: This does not require a suspension in the event <= /span>the game was shortened due to weather or the 10 run rule. Rule 15b still applies and the manager must report the violation to avoid the suspension.

 

15b)  &n= bsp;  The player that was not given his/her mandatory inning= s will then start the next scheduled game and play the complete game.

 

 

16)       There= will be a 3-member review committee to deal with any problems with

Managers/Coaches or Pl= ayers. The review committee m= ay assign discipline points based on evaluation of the situation. The committee will inform the Board of the decision.

 

16b)     If a manager gets 3 points or more in a season, they will not be allowed to play or coach in any post season games and will be subject to Board review.

 

17)       Each team w= ill have a team file at the field house to keep all team info in. This includes= a signed copy of the team rules and Code of Conduct.

 

18)       Manag= ers and coaches MUST wear the offi= cial team jersey while on the field.

 

19)       Each = team will have a written set of team rules that the Manager/Coach, parents =

and players will sign.  This form will be kept in the team= file at the field house. 

 

20)       Backg= round checks for the manager, coaches, and team parent must be turned in to the division V.P. prior to any interaction with the players.<= /p>
