LEAGUE RULES

Bradley-Bourbonnais PONY League

The official playing rules, with the exceptions and variations contained in the

rule book published by PONY Baseball/Softball, Inc., Washi= ngton, PA, shall be the ‘‘Official Rules of Major League Baseball’’ complet= ely revised, as released through the office of the Commissioner of Baseball. Th= ese rules shall be followed by our league along with the following League rules.

 

1)         = If a team has only 8 players by 10 minutes after the scheduled start of a game= , it will be considered a forfeit. A scrimmage game = can be played upon mutual agreement between the two managers, but the outcome of t= he scrimmage game does not count in the standings. However, all PONY rules sti= ll apply and the innings pitched DO COUNT toward a player’s weekly total= .

 

2)         A game in progre= ss shall be forfeited to the opposing team when a team is unable to place 9 players on the field. No manager or coach has the right to forfeit without Board approval.

 

3)         = METAL CLEATS will NOT be allowed on the players.

 

4)         Every game will = have a two-hour fifteen-minute (2:15) limit during the school year.  No inning may be started after the two-hour fifteen-minute (2:15) period however; the inning in progress will = be completed.  After school has l= et out, the limit will be two hours thirty minutes (2:30) with a curfew of 11:= 00 p.m. There is no time limit on Saturdays. The official scorekeeper will be responsible for advising the umpire of the time limit.

 

5)         All rainout games will be rescheduled by the Player Agent.&n= bsp; If a rainout is rained-out, it will still be played in the order of = the rainout. Rainouts may be played on Sundays or holidays, if necessary.

 

6)         = Smoking is not allowed on PONY grounds as it is school district property and smokin= g on school property is against Illinois State law. Those ne= eding to smoke need to go to the back of the parking lot or near John Casey Drive.=

7)         = In the event of a tie at the end of the regular season the following tie breaker system will be used:

a) head to head competition between the tied teams during the regular season

      = ;            &n= bsp;     b) fewest runs allowed in the head to head competitions

      = ;            &n= bsp;     c) Most strikeouts for your team (Official League scorebook will be used)=

      = ;            &n= bsp;     d) Coin flip

      = ;      If the tiebreaker advances to level C or D the teams will be named co-champions and the tiebreaker will be used to determine draft order only. Both teams w= ill receive a first place plaque.
