BY-LAWS

 

 

                ARTICLE 1  - NAME AND LOCATION

 

 

Section 1.               Name:  By virtue of the Charters granted, this Corporation shall be known as the

                                Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc.

 

Section 2.               Locations:  The locations of the Corporation shall be in the Village of Bourbonnais,

                                County of Kankakee, State of Illinois and the Village of Bradley, County of Kankakee,

                                and the State of Illinois.

 

Section 3.               Divisions:  The divisions of Little League Baseball, Inc. that shall be participated in by

the Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League Inc. will be Big League, Senior League, Little League, Minor League and T-Ball.

 

The Board of Directors oversees each of the Divisions of Little League Baseball, Inc. described in Article I, Section 3, and includes both the American and National divisions of the Little League.

 

Players are drafted from the same pool, alternating picks between American and National Leagues.

 

 

Section 4.               History:  The By-Laws originally approved May 6, 1958 by the organization with Harry

                                Skalsky, President were revised December 4, 1975, October 5, 1978, February 8, 1982,

                                September 3, 1987, March 1, 1990, February 4, 1993, January 5, 1995, January 8, 1998,

                                September 6, 1999, February 14, 2002, April 25, 2002, and November 6, 2003.

 

 

                ATRICLE II – OBJECTIVE

 

Section 1.

A)                 The objective of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. shall be to implant firmly in

the children of the communities the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence so that they may be finer, stronger and happier children and will grow to be good, decent and trustworthy citizens.

 

B)                  To achieve this objective the Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. will provide a supervised program under the rules and regulations of Little League Baseball, Inc. and Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League rules.  All Directors, Officers, and Members shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of the game is secondary and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.  In accordance, with the Federal Internal Revenue Code, the Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. shall operate exclusively as a non-profit educational organization providing a supervised program of competitive baseball.  No part of the net earnings shall insure to benefit of any private individual; no substantial part of the activity of which is carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, any which does not participate in or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office.

 

C)                  Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League shall insist upon proper behavior of adult managers,

coaches, and spectators as outlined in the League’s Code of Ethics.

 

D)                  The Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. prohibits the use of profanity, abusive language or mistreatment of youth by adult managers, coaches or spectators.

E)                   The Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. prohibits the use of any intoxicating drink

or illegal substances used or consumed while any adult coach or person in charge of youth, and/or performing or functioning in their specific duties while youth are under their control.  The Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. prohibits the use of alcoholic or illegal substances by anyone within the baseball complex.

 

 

F)                   The Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. shall provide group accident liability

insurance for all youth under the jurisdiction of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc.

 

G)                  The Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. shall provide legal liability for all Officers,

Directors, Players, Manager/Coaches, Umpires, Scorekeepers and Committee Personnel and other volunteers.

 

H)                  The Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc. shall provide insurance on all buildings and

exterior signage under jurisdiction of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Little League, Inc.

               

               

                ARTICLE III  - GOVERNMENT

 

Section 1

 

A)                 Managers, Coaches, and other adult volunteers shall be under the direct supervision of the Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors shall be comprised of a President, Vice President from each division, Secretary, Treasurer/Fundraising Chairperson, Player-Agent Little League, Player-Agent Senior League, Safety Officer and Information Officer.  There will also be Chairpersons in the following areas: Sponsors, Concession Management, Umpire in Chief, Team Parent Coordinator, Equipment Manager, and Field Manager  - Little League sitting on the Board with voting power. 

 

B)                  The Board shall consist of nineteen (19) persons whom shall be elected for a

two (2) year term, and members at large without voting power.  Any Board Member that attains 4 or more unexcused absences from regularly scheduled board meetings will be dismissed as a Board Member.
